Sohra College today marked its 44th foundation day with a colourful celebration at the college premises, showcasing the institution’s rich history and achievements.
The celebration featured a special felicitation program for teachers with 25 years of dedicated service, musical performances, traditional Khasi folk dance, and a vibrant display of student talent.
A notable moment of pride for the college was the felicitation of Laikyrshan Lyngdoh Mawphlang, a participant at the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi.
M.A. Challam, ADC i/c SDO (Civil), Sohra who graced the event as the chief guest praised the college’s growth, highlighting its distinction as the first place in Meghalaya to establish educational institutions. He called on the teachers and staff in maintaining its legacy.
Sirdar of Elaka Saitsohpen, D. Kynta commended the college’s journey from humble beginnings to its current robust state, applauding its achievements and encouraging students to build self-reliance.
