Endick M Marak, a self-described social activist, has alleged that there has been misappropriation of funds from the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) over various projects.
These include a viewpoint at Tobeng Abri, South Garo Hills (Rs 4 lakh), construction of RCC culvert at National Highway 62 to Danang Boldakgittim (Rs 5 lakh) and construction of a well at Harding Theological College (Rs 7.125 lakh).
The viewpoint was completed by the contractor in 2015 within the stipulated time but years have gone by and the bill has not been cleared. Marak alleged that the current GHADC Chief Executive Member has withdrawn the funds from the GHADC.
Similar instances were alleged to have occurred in the other projects also.
