A new X-Ray unit was inaugurated today at the Smit Primary Health Centre (PHC) by Health and Family Welfare Minister M Ampareen Lyngdoh today.
Lyngdoh said that she had also undertaken the trip to Smit to see the progress of the work to upgrade the PHC to a Community Health Centre. Other dignitaries present were Commissioner and Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Joram Beda and Director of Health Services (MI) Dr FV Kharshiing.
On a recent visit, the minister said that she had received a request from the local Dorbar to upgrade the PHC to CHC and work is being undertaken on the proposal.
She also urged all officials and doctors to work hand in hand with the dorbar shnong for the PHC’s smooth functioning.
