The furnaces of the Shillong Electric Crematorium and pumping system have been repaired and made operational by the technical committee of Greater Shillong Crematorium and Mortuary Society (GSCMS).
GSCMS has informed all users, both government and the public, that the Shillong Electric Crematorium has resumed its normal functioning from January 14.
It also said that Covid-19 infected dead bodies will be given first preference at the crematorium.
