Vivek Dutt, Superintendent of Police, Head of Branch, Central Bureau of Investigation. (CBI), ACB, Shillong was dismissed from service on charges of corruption.
The order was passed by the Central Vigilance Commission in January, 2023.
Dutt was arrested by the CBI in 2013 for his involvement in seeking and getting a bribe of Rs 7 lakh while investigating into the coal blocks allocation scam.
Sources said following the charges the officer was posted in Shillong from 2017 where he handled many cases in the State.
