Several homes in Mawskeilum and nearby villages were damaged after a strong weather system, accompanied by hail, struck the western Ri-Bhoi area last week, a delayed report said today.
The storm hit the area on April 21.
Forty-seven houses in Mawskeinlum were on the receiving end of storm damage with another 12 badly affected by hail, headman Drawson Pator informed.
The gram sevak from Jirang Community and Rural Development Block visited the affected villages but, so far, no relief has been provided, Pator said, adding that immediate relief is needed by the affected families.
