Some 15 houses were badly damaged by the heavy storm that struck Ri-Bhoi on Sunday night.
One village that was badly affected was Nongdewsaw, under Umsning block.
The Catholic church in the village was also damaged.
According to headman, AB Warjri, trees and electric poles were also uprooted by the strong storm.
It was also reported that several houses in Umpyrdong village, under Umling block, were also damaged and some families were rendered homeless.
