The Seng Khasi has issued strict warning against a youtube channel ‘Na Rympei U Hynñiewtrep’, for misuse of photographs, especially the most revered religious ceremony at U Lum Sohpetbneng, and its flag.
Seng Khasi Kmie, General Secretary Hainess Marbaniang said the issue was taken up at a meeting of the Jylli Pyrkhat Kam (JPK) of the Seng Khasi held on September 7.
“We have no objections to any personal opinions but we are concerned over the misuse of the photographs and the flag,” Marbaniang said.
Marbaniang said the Seng Khasi stands for the preservation and promotion of the rich tradition and cultural heritage of the indigenous community and such irresponsible action will only mislead the people.
“Therefore, we strongly condemn such action and warn that such acts should not be repeated in the future,” he added.
