Residents of Selsella under the banner of the All Selsella Joint Action Committee of Greater Water Supply Scheme (ASJACGWSS) have written to the Public Health Engineering Department alleging that a pipe has illegally been installed to take water to communities in South West Garo Hills.
According to the complaint, the pipe was connected to the Jakmiwari dam on the Galwang River whereas the scheme is meant to serve the people of Selsella itself.
Condemning the illegal structure, the ASJACGWSS members have resolved to remove the illegal connection and also not allow any other projects, either upstream or downstream.
