A collection of civil organisations from the Selsella area have written to Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, who holds charge of the Public Works Department (PWD), to draw his attention to the perilous state of the road from Haldibari to Rochonpara in West Garo Hills.
This PWD road has been abandoned for several years, Tynsong was told, with no further maintenance or development from the department.
The road project includes the construction of a culvert and bridge but the actual road has been unfinished for a long time, the complainants said. “Because of a lack of a decent road, local populations such as farmers, students, and everyday commuters face enormous challenges.”
