A training cum seed distribution programme of improved varieties of winter vegetables was today held at Patharkhmah village under Jirang Block organised by the ICAR – Krishi Vigyan Kendra.
The Ultimate Legend Bikers’ Association (TULBA) Western Zone, Patharkhmah selected 40 farmer beneficiaries, who interacted with Dr. Utpal Barua, SMS Horticulture, KVK Ri Bhoi on different aspects of vegetable cultivation practices.
During the course of training he emphasized on producing high quality organic vegetables through integrated approach to increase farmers’ income.
It was appealed to the local NGOs, village groups to come forward in organizing many more such programme with KVK Ri Bhoi to reach remotest corners of the district.
Forty kits consisting six different types of improved winter vegetable seeds provided by CISH under their NEH development programme were distributed among the attendees.
