The Shillong Press Club (SPC) has expressed its “utmost disdain and anger” at miscreants who vandalised the vehicle of one of its members in Mawpat Circle 3 in the wee hours of September 15.
Despite efforts by the owner to trace the culprits behind the crime, nothing forthcoming arose and hence a formal complaint was lodged with the Dorbar Shnong of Mawpat along with an FIR filed at Nongmynsong beat house.
While condemning this lowly and dastardly act on its member, the SPC strongly urged the Mawpat Dorbar Shnong and the police to immediately investigate, identify and apprehend the culprit/s involved in this “cowardly act” so that residents of the area as well as elsewhere in the city of Shillong remain safe and secure in their abode knowing that criminals have no place in a civilised and cultured society.
