Ask any music fan in Shillong of a certain age about their favourite concerts in the city and the Scorpions’ 2007 show will almost certainly be brought up in conversation.
Although the state capital has seen many big acts in recent years, as the concert economy has taken off in a big way, the nostalgia for that December 2007 event featuring the ageing German rock band still lives on.
Now, fans will be able to relive that experience as the Scorpions are set to return to Shillong in April after 18 long years.
The legendary band’s ‘Coming Home 2026’ tour will hit four cities: Shillong on April 21, Delhi on April 24, Bengaluru on April 26 and Mumbai on April 30.
Tickets go on sale in phases but the general ticket sale kicks off on January 17 at 1pm on BookMyShow.
Lead vocalist Klaus Meine said, “We are incredibly excited to finally be touring India again after such a long time… These concerts will be a very special experience for us.” Guitarist Rudolf Schenker added, “Bringing our ‘Coming Home’ concert to India feels truly special”.
Scorpions have been rocking the world for over five decades, with hits like “Rock You Like a Hurricane,” “Still Loving You,” and “Wind of Change”.
