South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai handed over and inaugurated the newly constructed play field cum seating gallery for the Arya Vidyalaya Secondary School, Jhalupara today.
The project was sanctioned under SUWP Developmental Scheme 2023-24 at Rs 23 lakhs.
Stating that the Cantonment Civil Area is congested with no space for recreation, Shullai said the newly constructed playfield will cater to the needs of all sports loving youths and students of the school and also the youth of the area.
Ramsevak Prasad Singh, Chief Patron, Principal S. K. Singh, Vice-Principal A. K. Jha, Secretary Ravi Tiwari, members of the managing committee of the school, senior citizens, parents, teachers and students were present on the occasion.
