Sankardev College organised an inter-college Arm Wrestling Competition today as part of the yearlong Diamond Jubilee Celebration of the college.
Altogether nine colleges participated in the event held for both women and men.
The winners under the female category are, Angelis Kharumnuid of Shillong College (50kg), Medariphylla L Nongbri of St. Edmund’s College (55 kg), Bandarika Kharkongor of St Edmunds’s College (60 kg), Zarienia Rapsang of Synod College (65 kg), Ladapbiang Malieh of Seng Khasi College (75 kg) and Hathoithiem Gangte of St.Edmund’s College (80kg).
In the male category, the winners are Bankerlang Nongkhlaw of St. Anthony’s College (55 kg), Shemladbha Khongwir of Seng Khasi College (60 kg), Enistone R Marak of Shillong Commerce College (65 kg), Marthaniel Tariang of St Edmund’s College (70kg), Nangapjingbha Nongrum of Shillong Commerce College (80 kg) and Vishal Dey of St. Edmund’s College (85 kg).
The winners of Over the Top in the competition are Shemladbha Khongwir of Seng Khasi College and Angelis Kharumnuid of Shillong College in the male and female categories respectively.
Earlier, the event was inaugurated by the Principal of the College, Dr. Eureka F.P Lyngdoh along with the Convener of the Sports Committee of the College Dr. Sukjai Swer and all the members of the Sports Committee.
