South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai on Saturday released developmental funds amounting to Rs 12.27 crore sanctioned under various schemes.
Shullai informed that this was the first tranche of monies to be released by him after being re-elected as MLA and the funds will be released to the different Dorbar Shnongs and village councils for beautification, lighting, installation of CCTVs at strategic locations, construction of roads and other infrastructure.
Shullai stressed that the streetlights earmarked for all the Dorbar Shnongs within his constituency should be installed in dark and isolated places where most anti-social activities take place.
Meanwhile, Shullai congratulated the people for reposing faith in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). His was one of only two seats that the saffron party won in the elections earlier this year. “You have used your wisdom because you know very well who is ruling in Delhi. Is it the UDP, NPP, KHNAM, the Prah (VPP) or is it the BJP?” he stated.
