A complaint has been filed with the Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills, against a contact number (9695747823) for impersonating Cabinet Minister Sanbor Shullai.
According to the plaint, the number was used to send WhatsApp message to the Director of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department and other officers of the department.
Earlier, Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh too reported a similar case.
Lyngdoh said his name was being used to dupe people via WhatsApp from a number 6297079020. The WhatsApp contact had Metbah Lyngdoh’s picture in its profile and the message being circulated was pertaining to Amazon gift card.
