South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai extended financial assistance of Rs 7.55lakh, sanctioned under the discretionary grant for 2022-23, to 15 institutions for organising various social and welfare programmes for students, youths and the general public for the year 2022.
The beneficiaries are Shree Shree Laban Shiv Mandir Durga Puja Committee, Sordar Raid Kongthong and Laban Sanatan Dharmasabha Harisabha with Rs 1 lakh each. Others are Gour Nitai Sangha, Rabindranath Tagore Club, Women’s Teej Cultural Committee, Kench’s Trace Puja Committee, ARPAN Women’s (NGO), Seng Teilang Ki Kynthei Laban, Shishu Mandir Secondary School, Greater Laban Gorkha Women’s Welfare Association (all Rs 50,000 each), Youth Organization on a Trailblazing Society (Rs 15,000), Pynshai School of Martial Arts, SPARK each with Rs 10,000 and Rs 20,000 to the Meghalaya State Kick Boxing Association.
