South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai extended financial assistance of Rs 5.4 lakh, sanctioned under the discretionary grant for 2022-23, to 11 institutions for organising various social and welfare programmes for students, youths and the general public for the year 2022.
The Raid Laban Secondary School and Kench’s Trace Puja Committee received Rs 1 lakh each. Other recipients were Deep Jyoti Socio-Environment Society, Lumparing Gorkha United Club, Gorkha Association, Ka Synjuk Ki Samla Seng Khasi Ri-Raid Laban, Lawei Traditional Dance Group, Gracious Givers Foundation (all Rs 50,000 each), Young Mizo Association (Rs 20,000), Meghalaya Taekwondo Training Academy and Jyoti Sroat School (both Rs 10,000 each).
