Shillong, Jul 30: To honour the efforts of frontline workers, self help groups (SHG) and officials, a programme on Sampoornata Abhiyan Samman Samaroh was held at Mingchengram Field, Mendipathar, North Garo Hills on Tuesday.
The programme aims to celebrate the achievement of all stakeholders working towards the upliftment of the underdeveloped areas by promoting inclusive growth and development.
Implemented by NITI Aayog, the programme was launched in North Garo Hills district in 2024 as Resubelpara C&RD Block being one among the 500 blocks selected from across the country to compete in the Aspirational Block Programme.
Addressing the gathering Assembly Deputy Speaker Timothy D Shira lauded the officials of the block and officials of other line departments for their contribution in enhancing the quality of life of the people and transforming the economic growth of the underdeveloped areas.
He further urged upon all stakeholders to continue working for the overall development of the district.
Shira and Mendipathar MLA Marthon J Sangma gave away certificates of appreciation to officials, individuals and groups who have ventured towards achieving 100 per cent saturation in six key performance indicators such as health & nutrition, education, agri & water resources, financial inclusion, skill development and basic infrastructure.
Locally made products by SHGs, were showcased during the programme to promote local entrepreneurs.
Free health screenings, MHIS enrollment among others, were also held for public awareness.
