Shillong, Dec 4: On the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day, Director of Sainik Welfare, Col (Retd) Darryl Hopkins called on Meghalaya Governor Chandrashekhar H Vijayashankar, at Raj Bhavan, Shillong, today.
During the meeting, Hopkins presented the Armed Forces Flag Day lapel pin to the Governor, as a symbol of solidarity and gratitude towards the brave soldiers, veterans, and their families who have dedicated their lives to the service of the nation.
The Governor expressed his deep appreciation for the courage and sacrifice of the Armed Forces personnel and reiterated the importance of supporting the welfare initiatives aimed at ensuring their well-being. He also encouraged citizens to contribute generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day fund as a gesture of respect and recognition of their invaluable service to the country.
