The State government has decides to rename roads in the city today as well as rectified the spelling of the locality ‘Nongmynsong to ‘Nongmensong’.
* “Harisabha Road” Laban proposed to be renamed as ‘Bhaskar Choudhury Road’.
* Locality “Dong Gordon-Bhagyakul” within Laitumkhrah proposed to be renamed as “Lum Tngen Jai”
* (i)Wahliewlong (N)” proposed to be renamed as “Wahliewlong village (ii)”Mawlaisyiem (M) village” proposed to be renamed as Mawlaisyiem village, Nobosohphoh Syiemship (iii) “Mawlaisyiem (M) village” proposed to be renamed as “Mawlaisyiem village, Myriaw Syiemship”
* ‘Hopkinson Road’, Lachaumiere proposed to be renamed as ‘Martin N Majaw Road’.
* Jackson Trace Bridge Road up to Ajajhur Bridge (Dhobighat) Lower Lumparing proposed to be renamed as ‘Brojen Mawlong Road’.
* “Sacred Heart School Road up to Dong Pdeng Road, Lower Lumparing proposed to be renamed as “P L Nongpiur (Bah Bing) Road’.
* Road from Wah Tashaid to Dong Mawnei, Lower Lumparing proposed to be named as ‘Tendro Ryntathiang Road’
* Road from (L) Glorymai Lyndem via St.John Church/Unitarian Church/Nepali Sec.School/Kench’s Trace / Wah Sohkhlur upto Laban Assamese H/S School proposed to be named as ‘Babu Hajom Kissor Sing Nongbri Road’
* Road from Mawbynna (Upper Laban) upto Riat Laban proposed to be named as ‘Phinton Mylliemngap Road’
* Road from Nandi Ram Lane Madan Laban upto Assamese Namghar to be named as ‘Nomiwell Rynjah Road’
* Road from Manik Road Madan Laban via resident of Kong Mih Riat Laban, Kynjat Phutbol” proposed to be named as “Dennis Dunn Road
* Road from Madan Laban bridge via residence of Kong Tngen Rynjah upto resident of (L) Hamlet Rani proposed to be named as ‘Moshondro Roy Road’.
* Road from Unitarian Church (Roman Road) Madan Laban upto existing PWD Kench’s Trace Road” proposed to be named as ” Brington Mylliemnngap Road’
* Road from the Office of the Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills, Shillong leading to Police Headquarters, Shillong” proposed to be named as ‘Raymond Diengdoh Road’.
* Road from Main Gate of Shrimanta Sankardev Cultural Centre Bishnupur, Shillong upto the Exit Gate of Shrimanta Sankardev College proposed to be named as ‘Saint Sankardeva Road’.
* Road from the Sacred Heart Secondary School, Lumparing up to Dongsiej, Lower Lumparing proposed to be named as ‘Sacred Heart Road”
* Road under Dorbar Shnong Kenches Trace, Oxford Hill & Rilbong (KOR)”, from the Water filling point of the Shillong Municipal Board, Harrison Bridge towards Last Stop up to the Oxford Taxi Stand (Sanlad Bishnupur junction) proposed to be named as ‘Daplin Star Mawlong Road’.
