Covid-19 warriors had their sacrifices acknowledged by the office of the District Disaster Management Authority in Ri-Bhoi, supported by the office of the Deputy Commissioner.
Those who have played their part in fighting Covid-19, from those in line departments to the media, were acknowledged at a function at the District Library Auditorium Hall here today where the DC, RM Kurbah, handed out certificates of appreciation to the Covid warriors.
The function marked a year since Meghalaya went into lockdown to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
A presentation of data related to Covid-19 in the district and the screening of a short documentary film was also made.
Kurbah expressed her gratitude to all the officers and staff from the line departments for their cooperation and responsibility in complying with the duties assigned to them and she also thanked them for their sacrifices and hard work to fight the pandemic.
