In view of the rising number of Covid-19 positive cases, a lockdown will come into force in Ri-Bhoi from May 1 to 10, according to Ri-Bhoi Deputy Commissioner, RM Kurbah.
Ri-Bhoi has the second-highest number of active coronavirus cases among any district in the state, with 155, according to Health Department figures today, which is around 10 percent of Meghalaya’s total.
The lockdown will be promulgated with the intention to stop community spread of the disease. Kurbah appealed to all the residents of the district to cooperate with the authorities during the lockdown.
