The Ri Bhoi Dorbar today extended its gratitude to Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma for his recent assurance to upgrade Patharkhmah administrative unit into a civil sub-division, which has been a long pending demand of the people.
Sangma had said earlier in the week that Patharkhmah was at the top of the list of areas hoping to be turned into a civil sub-division.
Addressing reporters in Umsning today, Ri Bhoi Dorbar president RB Shadap said that the Patharkhmah is the oldest administrative unit in the state and needs to be upgraded so that the people will enjoy better government services.
He also informed that land has already been donated free of cost since 1998 by the Dorbar Shnong of Patharkhmah for the offices expected to be part of the upgrades.
