The Ri-Bhoi Dorbar elected new office bearers today, with RB Shadap chosen as the new president.
Sunlight Shadap was elected as General Secretary and EK Lapang as Joint Secretary.
Ex-Chief Minister and chief adviser to the state government, DD Lapang, was present at the election, along with Nongpoh MLA Mayralborn Syiem, Nongpoh MDC Balajied Rani and Mawhati MDC Charles Marngar.
Shadap said that the Dorbar has resolved to continue the campaign for the upgrade of Patharkhmah into a civil sub-division and also to help bring about a permanent solution to the Meghalaya-Assam border dispute, which affects Ri-Bhoi district.
