To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Ri Bhoi Foundation Day which is observed on the 4th of June every year, the Ri Bhoi Dorbar in collaboration with the office of the Deputy Commissioner organized a programme today at the District Auditorium Hall, Nongpoh.
MLA of Nongpoh, Mayral Born Syiem, MDC of Nongpoh, Balajied Rani, MDC of Mawhati, Charles Marngar, Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner, Arpit Upadhyaya, Ri Bhoi Superintendent of Police, Giri Prasad, local leaders and representatives of Ri Bhoi Dorbar led by president, R.B Shadap attended the programme.
Youth who brought laurels to the district during the Meghalaya Games and winners of the Ri Bhoi Day run were also awarded on the occasion.
Addressing the celebration Syiem recalled the sacrifices and the contribution of leaders from the district like, former chief minister D.D Lapang, Fr. Sylvanus Sngi Lyngdoh and former chief minister who passed away recently, J.D Rymbai for the mission rendered by them who had turned out their dreams into reality.
Syiem urged residents to maintain love and unity and to work together for a bright Ri Bhoi.
