Deputy Chief Minister and chairman of the regional panel on boundary dispute, Prestone Tynsong has said that the Ri Bhoi committee has decided to look into the dispute at two clusters—Khanapara and Pilangkata—in the first phase.
Following a meeting to study the interstate boundary dispute with Assam held in Nongpoh today, Tynsong told reporters that a joint inspection with be carried out by both representatives of Meghalaya and Assam tomorrow in these two cluster.
He also informed that a separate committee will be constituted for MDCs and traditional chiefs, which forms the district committee. The regional, district and KHADC border committees will work in coordination and any decision will be based on land documents and historical facts, he added.
