Cabinet minister and Mawkyrwat MLA, Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar, today inspected the Corona Care Centre (CCC) in South West Khasi Hills and quarantine centre at Mawlangwir.
The minister was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills District, Caramai Kharkongor, District Surveillance Officer, Dr WL Narry, and others.
Tongkhar expressed grave concern on the rising cases and fatalities and urged the health workers not only to take care of the Covid patients but to boost their morale.
The MLA also donated sanitizer, drinking water and financial assistance to those at the corona centre and those under quarantine in Mawlangwir.
He also urged traditional leaders in the area to convert the Mawlangwir facility into a Community CCC.
