Shillong, Dec 5: A rehabilitation centre for substance use disorder (SUD) was inaugurated by Advisor to the Social Welfare Department Paul Lyngdoh today at Laitkor Mawrie.
The centre named, ‘Lam’ti Foundation Rehabilitation Centre’ was envisioned as a vital community initiative aimed at providing comprehensive rehabilitation services, including medical support, counselling, and structured reintegration programmes, for individuals striving to overcome addiction and rebuild their lives.
Member Anthony Syiemiong said the centre is being managed through private resources and client contributions.
He said the centre is working towards expanding services and strengthening its impact and is hopeful for future support and partnership from the government to address the growing public health concerns related to substance use disorder.
