I am writing to urgently bring to your attention the recurring issue of electricity outages in Bangalkata in the Phulbari constituency of West Garo Hills. Despite recent restoration efforts after a prolonged 15-day outage, the transformer has once again failed within a week, plunging our community back into darkness.
In addition, there is a severely damaged electric pole in our area that poses an immediate safety risk. This pole is precariously leaning and at risk of falling, which could endanger the lives of residents and disrupt the power supply to approximately 40-50 houses connected to it. The attached images illustrate the critical condition of the pole and the associated wiring.
This persistent problem highlights the need for immediate and more effective remedial actions. We urgently request the following measures:
- Comprehensive Transformer Replacement: Replace the damaged transformer with a more robust and reliable model. The previous transformer was replaced with an old one.
- Thorough Infrastructure Assessment: Conduct a detailed inspection of the entire electrical infrastructure to identify and rectify underlying issues.
- Enhanced Maintenance Protocols: Implement stringent maintenance and monitoring protocols to prevent frequent breakdowns.
- Immediate Pole Replacement: Replace the hazardous electric pole immediately to prevent any potential accidents and ensure the safety of the residents.
These actions are critical to ensuring a stable and reliable power supply for our community and safeguarding the well-being of our residents. We urge the concerned authorities to take immediate action. It will be very kind of you to address this issue with the utmost urgency to prevent further disruptions and potential hazards.
