A record 298 recoveries reported today pushed the total number of recoveries from Covid-19 in Meghalaya past 6,000.
East Khasi Hills recorded the highest number of recoveries with 223-armed/paramilitary forces six and 217 civilians, Ri-Bhoi with 55, West Garo Hills 18, East Jaiñtia Hills one and West Jaiñtia Hills one.
Director of Health Services (DHS) Dr Aman War informed that the civilian breakup of recovered cases in East Khasi Hills included high risk cases with 69, health workers – 68, police personnel – 17, Barapathar cluster- two, Golflink cluster- seven, Jaiaw cluster- three, Jail Road cluster- two, Jhalupara cluster- one, Kenchs Trace cluster- one, Laban cluster- four, Lummawbah cluster- eight, Madanryting cluster- one, Mawlai Mawroh- one, Mawlai Mawtawar cluster- one, Mawprem cluster- four, Khyndai Lad cluster- two, Pynthorumkhrah cluster- five, Rilbong cluster- 11, Shiliang Tashar cluster- five and Umlyngka cluster- five.
The total recovered cases in the state now stand at 6034.
The State also recorded 101 new infections on Saturday. East Khasi Hills with 56, West Khasi Hills 30, West Garo Hills 11, Ri-Bhoi two, South West Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills one each.
The total number of active cases in Meghalaya is now 2295.
The district wise breakup of the cases from the others category are – East Khasi Hills – high risk- 56, West Khasi Hills – police personnel – 29 and high risk – one, West Garo Hills – high risk- eight, health worker- one, returnee-one, screening purpose- one, Ri-Bhoi – high risk two, South West Khasi Hills – health worker one and South West Garo Hills – returnee one.
Dr. War also informed that the number of persons tested till Saturday are 1, 85, 467 out of which 1, 77, 063 samples yielded negative results.
He also informed that the number of people who entered the State till Saturday afternoon are 49, 519.
The Director of Health Services also said that a total of 8404 persons have been infected with the virus of which 75 succumbed to the virus, 6034 have recovered and 2295 cases are active.
Dr. War also informed that there are 66 containment zones and the case fatality rate is 0.90.
