The court of the Special Judge (POCSO) has sentenced a man to five years and three months imprisonment in the rape of a minor.
Ferdinus Marbaniang committed the crime in 2015. The court in a verdict passed on June 21 convicted him under section 10 POCSO Act and imposed a fine of Rs 3000.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police informed that Marbaniang was arrested for the rape of a 14-year old. A FIR was lodged on May 24, 2015 which was investigated by WPSI KD Sangma.
Following investigations, police chargesheeted the case on March 8, 2016.
