The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted fairly widespread to widespread rains with isolated heavy rainfall in Meghalaya from August 13 to 16.
The IMD said that a cyclonic circulation lies over the western parts of Gangetic West Bengal and under its influence will cause rains in Meghalaya and all parts of North East during these days.
Meanwhile, the Weather Channel said that since July a sort-of dry phase has prevailed over the north-eastern parts of India, and the rainfall so far this August has also remained below average.
