Shillong, Aug 10: Southern parts of East Khasi Hills received torrential rain in the 24 hours to 8:30am this morning, with Shella, Sohra and Pynursla areas all recording between 130mm and 204mm of rain.
Mawynram was in the lower 70-130mm band, according to data from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD is predicting more rain in parts of Meghalaya tomorrow, with yellow alerts for South Garo Hills, South West Khasi Hills, Eastern West Khasi Hills, Ri-Bhoi, East Khasi Hills and West and East Jaintia Hills.
Weather forecasts are fluid, however, and the IMD may change its advice when it issues a new update tomorrow.
