As part of his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will arrive in Meghalaya on January 22.
Gandhi will lead a public march from DTO office, Nongpoh to NSCA Mini Stadium at Pahamsyiem on January 22 from 1 pm.
It may be mentioned that Gandhi started the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Manipur two days ago.
His rally spanning 6200 kms across 14 states from east to west of the country is aimed at strengthening the Congress party ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking to media persons today, Ri-Bhoi Congress Committee president and Mawhati MLA Charles Marngar said Gandhi’s march “is not a political campaign” but a rally for justice and democracy to challenge the BJP-led government at the Centre.
Marngar further appealed to people of Ri-Bhoi district especially residents of Nongpoh to join the march with Gandhi from the DTO office to the NSCA Mini Stadium at Pahamsyiem where the Congress leader will address the crowd.
