KHADC Deputy Chief Executive Member PN Syiem emphasised the need for the Nongpoh District Council branch to effectively utilise its jurisdiction over various matters under the council’s purview, particularly focusing on strengthening the role of the KHADC in overseeing the District Council Courts across the district.
Addressing reporters after a spot inspection, Syiem highlighted the council’s ongoing efforts to streamline operations and enhance efficiency within the Nongpoh branch. This includes reinforcing the jurisdiction of the council and the KHADC over judicial matters and supporting the council’s courts in delivering swift and fair justice to the people.
He also expressed his commitment to improving administrative processes and facilitating developmental initiatives within the jurisdiction.
Regarding the recent activities at the District Council Courts in Nongpoh, Syiem informed that around 300 pending cases were successfully processed under the KHADC’s jurisdiction. He also discussed amendments to the CrPC and IPC within the BNS and BNSS framework.
He also assured that efforts are underway to improve infrastructure, particularly in the Forest Department’s administration of buildings and other facilities under its purview, ensuring sustainable development practices aligned with local needs and environmental conservation.
