The three newly-elected MLAs from Mawryngkneng, Mawphlang and Rajabala will be sworn in on November 5 by Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh.
The oath taking ceremony for Pyniaid Sing Syiem, Eugeneson Lyngdoh and Abdus Saleh will be held at the annexe hall of the temporary Assembly building at Rilbong at 2 pm.
Pyniaid Sing Syiem of the NPP bagged the Mawryngkneng seat in the by-election held on October 30, defeating Highlander Kharmalki of the Congress by 1,816 votes.
Syiem garnered 14,177 votes, while Kharmalki secured 12,361, according to the Election Commission.
Former national footballer Eugeneson Lyngdoh of UDP meanwhile won from Mawphlang constituency against his nearest rival Kennedy C. Khyriem of the Congress.
Lyngdoh garnered 13,285 votes while the Congress candidate got 8,884 votes.
Lyngdoh replaces his father Syntar Klas Sunn who had represented the constituency since 2018 till his sudden demise on September 10.
Lyngdoh’s father, while an independent, had become an ‘associate member’ of the UDP after being elected in 2018.
Meanwhile, Abdus Saleh became MLA for the fourth time after the NPP won the Rajabala by-election with a margin of 1,927 votes against his nearest rival from Congress, Hasina Yasmin Mondal.
Saleh got a total of 11,812 votes from a total of 29,861 casted. He was followed by Hasina, who secured 9,885 votes.
It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has yesterday claimed that the victory of NPP and UDP in the by-polls is a clear indication that people were happy with the performance of the MDA government of which the two parties are allies.
