New containment order has been issued by the Mairang Sub-Divisional Magistrate to fight the spread of Covid-19.
The areas falling under containment are the entire Pyndengumiong that includes Dong Lumiew, Dongbir, Dong Gate, Lummarlong, Langstiehrim and Umwiehsup.
The order was necessitated due to increase in the number of Covid-19 cases. Pyndengumiong registered 113 positive cases with seven deaths and 18 active cases.
As per the order, all shops will remain closed and all construction works stopped. Government offices and banks falling under the containment zone will remain open, provided they obtain permission from the office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate.
Health workers are exempted from the purview of the order.
