Director of Health Services, Dr Aman Warr, informed today that the procurement of ambulances fitted with advanced life support (ALS) is under process.
There are currently only four such ambulances in the state – one each at the Covid hospital in Umsawli, Shella, Laitkynsew and NEIGRIHMS.
The purchase of further vehicles will be made through state and central government funds, the director added.
“Once the modalities have been thrashed out, we will get the ambulances,” Dr Warr said, adding that the cost of each vehicle ranges from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh.
