The Meghalaya unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today clarified a newspaper article that seemed to suggest that prominent persons of Meghalaya had rejected invitations to attend the Ram temple inauguration in Ayodhya.
Today the BJP made it clear that the invitation was to visit the temple when convenient for the invitees and not for Monday’s inauguration.
The saffron party claimed that the invites were “readily accepted wholeheartedly” and the inauguration has been “advanced blessed” by every prominent citizen of the state.
The claim in the newspaper that invitees had decided to skip the inauguration was thus false and was an “attempt to vitiate the atmosphere during a momentous occasion and an effort to distort facts.”
