Shillong, Feb 5:PRIME Meghalaya held a programme today at Ward’s Lake here to celebrate the ‘Top 75 Startups’ selected through the Chief Minister’s E-Championship Challenge 6.0 as they begin their incubation journey and also marked the graduation of 75 Startups of Cohort 5 for their achievements and dedication.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said that entrepreneurship can work wonders for the state and the nation, stating, “I have spoken to entrepreneurs on numerous occasions that sometimes I am at a loss for words but what never changes is my belief and passion for entrepreneurship and its immense potential.”
He added that a few years back there was no ecosystem in Meghalaya to support entrepreneurs but now even the central government has recognised the entrepreneurship programmes of the state through various awards and accolades.
Sharing his experiences as a struggling entrepreneur before joining politics the CM said, “I can connect and relate to your apprehensions, disappointments and the challenges you face but I see the same spark in your eyes and the government will do its best to support you through your journey of entrepreneurship.” However, he also cautioned that entrepreneurship is very challenging adding, “PRIME has been set up to guide you through those challenges.”
The Chief Minister also launched the PRIME Entrepreneur Catalogue and awarded the Top Performers of the Incubation Program in various categories and also felicitated graduating start ups of Cohort 5 and Cohort 6 during the occasion.
