A delegation of the Seng Khasi Tyrsad circle and Dorbar Shnong of Kyrphei, led by former Mawphlang MLA Kennedy Khyriem, met Public Works Development (Roads) Minister Prestone Tynsong to urge him to repair the Mawphlang-Balat Road.
The delegation was especially concerned given that the Lympung Seng Khihlang event is scheduled to be held at Kyrphei in April 2023.
Khyriem said that the stretches of road around Mawngap, Mawphlang, Tyrsad and Lyngiong are in a pathetic state and thousands of people are expected to attend next year’s event.
Tynsong reportedly assured them that the repairs will be carried out.
