Shillong, Aug 20: A feature film on the life of Khasi freedom fighter U Tirot Sing Syiem is in the works, with celebrated local filmmaker Pradip Kurbah entrusted with preparing the script and other details relating to the project.
This was informed by Arts and Culture Minister Paul Lyngdoh today.
Tirot Sing, who fought the British during the Anglo-Khasi War in the first half of the 19th century, died in exile in Dhaka.
He remains an icon of the Khasi community and is a popular subject in various art media, including film.
