A road campaign on ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ and the importance of cleanliness was flagged off today from the Powergrid campus here.
The ceremony was attended by senior Powergrid officials and employees. The roadshow is being organised as part of the Swachhta Pakhwada 2022 campaign to make cleanliness a truly citizens’ movement. Powergrid staff had already taken the Swachhta pledge on May 16.
Its objective is to generate and promote public awareness on cleanliness and hygiene.
As part of its activities, Powergrid had held cleaning drives in its office and surroundings, distributed garbage bins to Shillong Civil Hospital and NEIGRIHMS, distributed facemasks, handwash and soaps to schools and cloth bags to vendors. These kinds of activities are being replicated in the other states of the North East as well, a press release informed today.
