Sir,
I would like to inform you on our current stance on the issue regarding the sorry state of infrastructure that is being provided to the people in the form of this big fraud, the PA Sangma Stadium in Tura.
The society had been led to believe that so much effort was put into this project i.e. the construction of this so called monumental architecture and the State had very much drained of its resources for this sole purpose. But on the 1st of June 2024 the eastern part of the structure collapsed causing inconvenience to the people living nearby. It has to be understood that such incidents pose a threat to people’s lives for which we believe that persons responsible for this should bear the consequences.
I would further like to add that a concerned citizen once informed the persons at the helm of this project that the pitch of the mentioned stadium is clogged with water owing to the poor drainage system. But so far, no improvement can be witnessed in that respect and we believe that it plays a factor for the incident. It has to be taken into account that this is not a one off incident as the structure had collapsed before and no salient endeavour had been made by the persons responsible to mend the problem.
So, to further avoid such troublesome situations, I would like to ask the persons responsible (in this case the Badri Rai Company) to take full accountability for the incident and reach out to the people affected by it.
