Shillong, Aug 2: Footage from a CCTV camera installed in an under construction house helped police nab a burglar, who attacked a caretaker, after an attempt to steal failed.
Mawlai Police arrested one Maxson Dkhar, identified through the CCTV footage.
The incident took place on July 31 at Mawlai Umshing Mawkynroh when the burglar, armed with a wrench, forcibly entered the house with the intention to steal. He was seen attacking the caretaker, who fell off the stairs.
The caretaker, who received injuries, bore four stitches on his head.
Police suspect more persons are involved and investigation is on to track the burglars.
