Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said today that the government has issued a standing order for police and other civil servants to crack down against illegal activities in the state.
Tynsong was reacting to leader of the opposition Dr Mukul Sangma writing to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court about “continuous illegal coal mining in the state and illegal transportation of illegally mined coal.”
Tynsong, however, said that the government has issued directives to the district administrations, Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and concerned departments that they should be proactive to ensure that illegalities do not take place.
