The Pohkseh Water Supply Scheme has failed in meeting the needs of people for piped water supply, Nongthymmai MLA Charles Pyngrope said in the Assembly today.
Rs 85.84 lakh has been sanctioned for the scheme, Public Health Engineering Minister Marcuise Marak said today and, of this, Rs 45.59 lakh has been utilised. The project was sanctioned in 2018 and was meant to be complete in June this year, with 7,760 people benefitting.
However, Pyngrope said that house connections were not incorporated into the scheme, and such connections are being provided by the Dorbar Shnong.
