The Nartiang Moodop Coordination Committee of West Jaiñtia Hills today met the Director of School Education on the issue relating to the Nartiang Government LP School and Nartiang-Moodop Government LP School.

Informing that the school at present has no teachers for its 130 students, he said that, in the past, there were four to five teachers appointed on a contractual basis but now the school has only a headmaster.
With regards to the Nartiang-Moodop Government LP School, with around 100 students, Surong said the school does not have its own building but operates out of the Moodop community hall.
Surong informed that the director has assured to send the villagers’ memorandum to the Secretary of the Education Department.
“We will also soon meet Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui to apprise him of the matter so that the plight faced by the two schools is addressed,” he added.
